Common Questions & Answers relating to Email Forwarding

Help relating To: Web Forwarding | Email Forwarding | Domain Registration

What is email forwarding?

This is a very useful feature which allows you to have unlimited email addresses at your domain. For example sales@yourname.co.uk, info@yourname.co.uk etc. All mail received at these addresses will be then be automatically forwarded on to which ever account you specify.

Email forwarding is included free of charge with all net2 domain registrations. With our online domain control panel you can add unlimited email forwarding addresses, set-up a catch-all mail account and update settings in real-time.

How can I configure my email program so that it will not show my forwarding address?

By modifying the "email address" and "reply to address" settings in your email programs preferences it is possible to make it appear as though any email sent from you is coming from your domain name and not your forwarded address. Below are instructions of how  to do this in the 3 most popular email programs. If you are using a web based email account please read the online help guides they provide.

Outlook Express

Go to Menu Bar > Tools > Accounts >  Mail Tab > Properties
Now change the email address and reply to address to the one which you want your email to appear to have come from e.g. change info@yourisp.co.uk to info@yourdomain.co.uk.

Outlook 2000

Go to Menu Bar > Tools > Services >  Edit Email Accounts Name
Now change the email address and reply to address to the one which you want your email to appear to have come from e.g. change  info@yourisp.co.uk to info@yourdomain.co.uk.
